Arsenal – 1929/30 Special edition Photo Presentation

Item Number:  5663-1

This superb special edition presentation displays a high quality official photo of the famous Arsenal 1929-30 squad that won the FA Cup.

The photo is exceptionally clear and crisp and was the official photo taken at Highbury and shows the following players and coaching staff including the legendary Herbert Champman who went on to become one of the most successful and influential managers in early 20th-century English football.

Players include;

Alf Baker, Cliff Bastin, James Brain, Jack Butler, Horace Cope, David Halliday, Eddie Hapgood, Alfred Edward Haynes, Joe Hulme, Albert Edward Humpish, David Jack, Alex James, Bob John, William S Johnstone, Charles Jones, Jack Lambert, Dan Lewis, Tom Parker, Harold Burston Peel, Charlie Preedy, Herbie Roberts, Bill Seddon, Leonard Thompson, Joey Williams, William Harper and Raymond Parkin.

It is presented in lovely black wood surround with double red and white mounts and a plaque detailing the year and achievement.

Measurse in at a large and impressive 49cm by 43cm.

The 1930 FA Cup Final was contested by Arsenal and Huddersfield Town at Wembley Stadium. Arsenal won 2–0, with goals from Alex James and Jack Lambert. As a result, Arsenal won their first FA Cup after a defeat in their FA Cup final debut in 1927.

The 1930 Final was the first cup final in which both teams entered the pitch side-by-side, in honour of Arsenal manager Herbert Chapman, who had also managed Huddersfield in the 1920s. Arsenal came into the game following a 6–6 draw at Leicester City, the highest-scoring draw in English top-flight history, five days prior. Four-goal hero Dave Halliday was omitted from the Cup final squad.

The 1930 FA Cup Final is remembered for the sinister image of the Graf Zeppelin looming over the stadium during the first half. The Zeppelin was, at the time, the largest airship ever and was around 776 ft in length.

Arsenal's Bill Seddon, who died in January 1993 at the age of 91, was the last surviving player to appear in the game.

A wonderful Sports Collectable that would make a great gift for an Arsenal fan.
