Valentino Rossi is widely considered one of the greatest if not the best motorcycle racer of all time. He has won 7 Grand Prix World Championships (1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005).

In 2006, he narrowly missed an 8th title by scoring a second place in the Championship, and now continues in the 2008 season as one of the title favourites.

According to Sports Illustrated, Rossi is the 7th highest earning sports personality in the world (2nd outside the United States), earning an estimated million a year.
