A superb and truly unique one-off presentation of the legendary boxer and unique individual, Joe ‘The Brown Bomber’ Louis.

Similar to Ali in many ways, Joe Louis changed the way the world viewed black fighters and caused one of the biggest upsets in history when beating Max Schmeling in 1938.

He led an extraordinary life both in and out of the ring and his record stands alongside the best ever boxers with 68 wins and only 3 loses. He fought many of the world greats and sadly passed away in 1981.

This presentation is a particularly fine example of boxing history; it contains two photos of Louis posing, one sepia and one black and white. There is an original signature mounted under the photo with a full plaque description (see below). The signature is an excellent example and presented in good condition.

It has recently been professionally re-framed in a dark wood surround with double mounts, measuring in at an impressive 610mm by 590mm (approx).

Joe Louis signatures rarely become available so represents a fine opportunity to obtain an historic item of boxing memorabilia.

Joe Louis - 1914 to 1981

Nicknamed the Brown Bomber, he is considered to be one of the greatest in boxing history. Number one on Ring Magazine's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. Louis held the heavyweight title for over 106 months, more than anyone else before or after him, recording 25 successful defences of the title.

In 2005, Louis was named the greatest heavyweight of all time by the International Boxing Research Organization. He participated in 27 heavyweight championship fights, a record which still stands.
