Item Number: 1773
Ayrton Senna da Silva - March 21 1960 to May 1 1994 Senna is one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula One and became an international sporting superstar during his career. His competitive and ruthless approach on the track was in stark contrast to his humane and compassionate exploits off it. Senna won the British F3 championship in 1983 and made his F1 debut with Toleman the next year. He moved to Lotus in 1985, and won six Grand Prix over the next 3 seasons. In 1988 he joined Alain Prost at McLaren and won that year's championship. He and Prost developed a heated rivalry, which is regarded as the bitterest in F1 history. Senna won the championship twice more, in 1990 and 1991. In the next two years with McLaren, despite driving an inferior car, Senna won races and challenged for the 1993 world title, finishing runner-up to Prost. He switched to Williams for the 1994 season. At the third race of the year millions of fans witnessed his fatal crash during the San Marino Grand Prix. We are delighted to offer this absolutely unique and one-off item of Ayton Senna signed memorabilia. It consists of 2 large colour photographs of Senna, one action 12 by 8 and one portrait 16 by 12 in his car. There is a replica of his actual helmet, complete in every detail.
