Formally known as the St Andrews Sunday School, Fulham were founded in 1879 and are the oldest professional team in London, and have played at Craven Cottage since 1896, only moving for a brief period to Loftus Rd (home of Queens Park Rangers) while the Cottage was modified for the Premier League.

Despite being a second division side Fulham played in the 1975 FA Cup final only to loose 2-0 to West Ham. Fulham also qualified for the UEFA Cup in 2002 after wining the Intertoto Cup. Fulham were promoted to the Premier League in 2001 with the financial backing of Mohamed Al-Fayed.

The club’s most famous player was George Best, playing 47 games during the 1976-77 season after leaving Manchester United. Another well known personality to play at the club was Jimmy Hill playing over 300 games for the club between 1961 and 1967.
