Everton were formed in 1878 and in 1888 were one of the founder members of the Football League. Everton played at Anfield until 1892 when a breakaway group formed Liverpool, meaning Everton had to re-locate to their current home ground, Goodison Park.

Everton has competed in top flight football for 107 years, and has played more league games than any other English football club. Everton’s most successful periods were in 1960’s winning two league trophies and an FA CUP.

In recent years Everton have seen success in the mid 1980’s with two league tittles an FA Cup and a European Cup Winners Cup in 1985.
